Glades Unit: Skyeship Gondola 2 miles w/ HOT TUB
Plymouth, VT, United States
About
The Glades Unit is a recently updated home away from home. Located just 2 miles from Killington's Skyship Gondola, 15 minutes to Killington's main base area, and 20 minutes to Okemo. The first floor has open living space including a kitchen, dinning room, living room with a brick fire place and glass front wood stove, and a full bathroom. The second floor has 4 bedrooms and full bathroom. Larger group? Click my profile picture below to see the sister listings in this building.
Good to know
The space is a fully separated, two story, four bedroom unit in our four family French Chalet. Your entrance and is behind the building. Each unit has spots for parking off the driveway on each side of the hot tub pavillion. There plenty of space for up to four or five cars with snow. The home is set back about 100 feet from the main road so it is close enough for easy access to plowed roads yet set back enough so you can hear the brook. Watching a fire in the wood stove is personally my favorite channel but we also have WiFi and a smart TV to view your streaming services. We designed this home to have everything you need for your vacation including several small kitchen appliances, utensils, bakeware, spices, bathroom essentials, bedding, linens and towels.
Other Details to Note
1) HOT TUB- Our Home comes with a large hot tub outside. It is shared with the other 3 units at the house. Typically, each unit takes turns using the tub and everyone has plenty of opportunity to use the tub. We have never needed to close the hot tub but if we do, we will not be issuing a refund. Maintaining and operating a hot tub is VERY expensive and we did not raise any rates when we added the tub. If your group damages the tub, you will be responsible for the cost of extra service and replacement parts. In booking our home you understand that use of the hot tub is at your own risk. In booking you are agreeing to hold the owners harmless of any injury or death resulting from the use of the hot tub. 2) Madden Brook- Follow your ears and a short walk up the driveway (behind the house) will bring you to the beautiful Madden Brook. In booking our home you understand that swimming in the brook is at your own risk. In booking you are agreeing to hold the owners harmless of any injury or death resulting from entry to the brook. 3) Hiking- Behind the house there are hundreds of acres of state forest with old logging roads. It’s quite a hike (a few miles) and there are no marked trails; but the Long Trail and Appalachian Trail transect the state forest. There are a whole network of trails in the area. Easiest access is from Shrewsbury Peak Trails located a couple miles south of the house off of Route 100. I’m happy to send you info and trail maps if hiking is something your interested in. There are also several beautiful lakes to check out with a short 5 min drive to the south (off route 100). In booking our home you are agreeing to hold the owners harmless of any injury or death resulting from any hike recommended by the owners. Each individual should know their limits. 4) Bunk Beds- Safety measures are in place for each bunk bed in our home. In booking our home you are agreeing to hold the owners harmless of any injury or death resulting from use of the bunk beds.

Neighborhood
We love the mountains and we love to ski and hike. The character of this building is truly unique. The previous owner poured heart and soul (blood and tears) into designing and building this place with lumber and stone from the property. In the past 5 years, we have given it new life with a complete renovation. This character, landscape, and proximity to Killington resort make this home our forever home. We are very excited to share this space with other vacationers who can appreciate is just as we do. We have a few neighbors who are very friendly but also live here in rural Vermont for the privacy. Please respect their land and stay on our side of the brook (do NOT cross the bridge) and stay away from other homes.
Guest Access
There are a couple small locked rooms at the bottom of the stairs on the first floor. We use these rooms to store personal items, tools, and supplies for our rentals. Outside we encourage guests to use the frisbee golf stand, cornhole game, and communal charcoal grill. We recommend a quick walk up the trail, (behind the hot tub) and go check out Madden Brook. The sound of the water is calming and peaceful.
