Good to know
We designed this home to have everything you need for your rural mountain getaway. Watching a fire in the wood stove is personally my favorite channel but we also have WiFi and a smart TV to view your streaming services. The kitchen is fully stocked with basics for cooking and baking as well as many small appliances and spices. Towels and soft linens are provided for your comfort.
Other Details to Note
1) HOT TUB- Our Home comes with a large hot tub outside. It is shared with the other 3 units at the house. Typically, each unit takes turns using the tub and everyone has plenty of opportunity to use the tub. We have never needed to close the hot tub but if we do, we will not be issuing a refund. Maintaining and operating a hot tub is VERY expensive and we did not raise any rates when we added the tub. If your group damages the tub, you will be responsible for the cost of extra service and replacement parts. In booking our home you understand that use of the hot tub is at your own risk. In booking you are agreeing to hold the owners harmless of any injury or death resulting from the use of the hot tub. 2) Madden Brook- Follow your ears and a short walk up the driveway (behind the house) will bring you to the beautiful Madden Brook. In booking our home you understand that swimming in the brook is at your own risk. In booking you are agreeing to hold the owners harmless of any injury or death resulting from entry to the brook. 3) Hiking- Behind the house there are hundreds of acres of state forest with old logging roads. It’s quite a hike (a few miles) and there are no marked trails; but the Long Trail and Appalachian Trail transect the state forest. There are a whole network of trails in the area. Easiest access is from Shrewsbury Peak Trails located a couple miles south of the house off of Route 100. I’m happy to send you info and trail maps if hiking is something your interested in. There are also several beautiful lakes to check out with a short 5 min drive to the south (off route 100). In booking our home you are agreeing to hold the owners harmless of any injury or death resulting from any hike recommended by the owners. Each individual should know their limits. 4) Bunk Beds- Safety measures are in place for each bunk bed in our home. In booking our home you are agreeing to hold the owners harmless of any injury or death resulting from use of the bunk beds.

Neighborhood
We love the mountains and we love to ski/board and hike. The character of this building is truly unique. The previous owner who designed and built this home poured his heart and soul (blood and tears) into it. He designed, cut, milled and built this home himself with lumber from the property. This character and other activities in the area make this our forever home. We are so excited to share these private units with vacationers!
Guest Access
The space is a fully separated two-bedroom unit in our four-family French Chalet. Parking is right in front of the building with space for up to four cars. The home is set back about 100 feet from the main road (Route 100) so it is close enough for easy access to plowed roads yet set back enough so all you hear is the nearby brook.
